The University of Montana Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association:

Inspiring interdisciplinary interaction –
reaching new levels of education

All graduate students enrolled for at least one credit hour are automatically members of The University of Montana Graduate Student Association. There are no dues for individual student members of GSA. Funding for GSA activities is obtained through Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) allocations or GSA fund-raising.

The purpose of the Graduate Student Association is to improve the quality of education and life of graduate students, communicate and support the research interests of graduate students, and recommend GSA members for policy making and administrative committees on campus. We are the spokes-body for graduate student concerns.

What does GSA do?
  • Lobbies UM administration for increased travel funds
  • Acts as a social networking platform for graduate students
  • Initiates fundraisers for Graduate Student Association social events
  • Provides an information resource for all graduate students (via GSA office and website); a conduit of Graduate Student information
  • Welcomes all incoming graduate students to The University of Montana

Puruse the GSA website: http://www.umt.edu/gsa/

Email GSA at: umgsa@umontana.edu

Become an active member and attend a meeting!

  • Thursdays from 1:00-2:00 pm in UC 207

What events can the Graduate Student Association (GSA) hold that would be beneficial for graduate students at The University of Montana? Input from the graduate student population is needed to ensure the GSA can serve graduate students to the best of its ability. Let your voice be heard and tell us what you we can do for you!
